About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to lead and transform an investment holding group with a ₦250 billion portfolio spanning real estate, agriculture, energy, hospitality, and manufacturing. The Head of Transaction Management will oversee the end-to-end management of investment transactions, lead a team of investment analysts, and develop strategies to achieve the group's investment objectives. Candidates should have experience leading end-to-end transactions, strong financial modelling skills, and exposure to project finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of transactions with investment banking and advisory partners.
  • Perform in-depth analysis, including developing financial models.
  • Assess investment opportunities for value and growth impact; make recommendations.
  • Oversee financial, commercial, risk, and legal due diligence processes.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close transactions and portfolio restructurings.
  • Prepare investment concept notes and reports for presentation to Executive Management and the Board.
  • Adhere to risk management policies and investment compliance regulations.
  • Monitor and report on project performance regularly.

Reporting and Operational Oversight

  • Prepare regular management reports and dashboards to track investment performance.
  • Ensure up-to-date and accurate investment schedules.
  • Present updates during review meetings and ensure alignment with reporting standards.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to achieve corporate goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Chief Investment and Business Development Officer.

Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, or related fields.
  • 8–12 years of experience in investment management or financial advisory.
  • Exposure to infrastructure transactions is advantageous.

About the Role

The Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting SWIT's investment activities. This individual will be responsible for conducting market research, financial analysis, and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities. This role is vital in ensuring that SWIT’s capital is allocated wisely to generate attractive returns and meet broader strategic goals (e.g., building an innovation track record and attracting 3rd-party investors).

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Analyst

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and investment opportunities within SWIT's target sectors.
  • Analyse industry data, competitor landscapes, and market sizing to assess the potential of investment opportunities.

Financial Modelling & Valuation

  • Build and maintain financial models to project the performance of potential investments, evaluate startup valuations, return scenarios, and exit possibilities.
  • Conduct valuation analysis using various methodologies, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Analyse portfolio performance and provide recommendations on optimising returns.

Due Diligence

  • Support the due diligence process for potential investments, including reviewing business plans, financial statements, and legal documents.
  • Conduct background checks on management teams and assess the overall risk profile of investment opportunities.

Financial & Investment Memoranda

  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentations summarising investment opportunities and recommendations for the Investment Committee.
  • Provide analytical support for ongoing fundraising initiatives (e.g., attracting additional investments from third-party investors interested in our fund/portfolio).
  • Aid in creation of investor-facing documentation (pitch decks, performance updates, etc.).

Portfolio Monitoring

  • Track the performance of SWIT's existing portfolio companies, quarterly updates, monitoring key metrics and identifying potential risks or opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports on portfolio performance for the CEO and Investment Committee.

Deal Pipeline Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Head of Venture Development to identify prospective investments from SWIT’s accelerator/incubator pipeline.
  • Support the movement of deals from screening to Investment Committee presentations.
  • Support Fund Strategy.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of SWIT's VC fund strategy.

Administrative Support

  • Provide financial accounting support for SWIT working with the Head of Finance.
  • Provide administrative support to the investment committee, including scheduling meetings, managing documents, and maintaining databases.

Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Relevant certification in Finance would be an added advantage.
  • 3+ years relevant experience is required.
  • Relevant experience in financial analysis, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesise findings into executive-level documents.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organisational skills.

The role demands strong relationship-building skills, an understanding of startup/innovation ecosystems, and the ability to convert leads into tangible opportunities for SWIT's incubation, acceleration, and consulting services. This individual will play a key role in driving the growth and visibility of SWIT within the innovation ecosystem "glocally."

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communication

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote SWIT's brand, programs, and initiatives.
  • Manage and monetise SWIT's online presence, including website, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Create engaging content, such as blog posts, articles, press releases, and marketing collateral.
  • Manage media relations and secure media coverage for SWIT and its portfolio companies.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Requirements

Experience

About the Role

The Head of Venture Development will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of SWIT's accelerator and incubator programs. This individual will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies that support the identification, nurturing, and commercialisation of innovative startups and research projects. Success in this position involves building and managing robust pipelines for venture deal flow, accelerating portfolio growth, and contributing to SWIT's reputation as a leading innovation hub in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Management

  • Design, develop, and manage SWIT's startup acceleration and incubation programs, including curriculum, mentorship programs, and networking events.
  • Oversee the selection process for startups participating in the programs, ensuring alignment with SWIT's investment thesis and strategic objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accelerator and incubator, providing guidance and support to participating startups.
  • Develop and implement metrics to track the progress and success of startups within the programs.
  • Manage the commercialisation of research, specifically the "Town & Gown" initiative.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with strategic partners, including universities, research institutions, corporations, and other ecosystem players.
  • Collaborate with partners to source high-potential startups and research projects for SWIT's programs.
  • Leverage partnerships to enhance the value proposition of SWIT's programs and provide additional resources to participating startups.
  • Facilitate access to market especially with other portfolio companies as part of managing growth.
  • Support the launch and continual update of the "SWIT Virtual Hub," ensuring a valuable repository for all innovation stakeholders.

Startup Portfolio Management Support

  • Support the Fund Management team to track portfolio performance and milestone achievement; ensure that portfolio startups receive continuous support in strategy, marketing, operations, and funding.
  • Target and maintain equity positions in promising startups annually, aligned with SWIT's growth objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to startups within the programs, focusing on business model development, market validation, and fundraising strategies.
  • Connect startups with relevant mentors and advisors from SWIT's network.

Deal Sourcing & Evaluation

  • Contribute to the deal sourcing process by identifying at least 200 promising startups and research projects per year, aligned with SWIT's investment focus.
  • Conduct initial due diligence on potential investments, evaluating the market opportunity, team, and technology; ensure at least 20 startups/projects pass Investment Committee (IC) evaluation through the Fund Management Team.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build and manage a high-performing team to support the execution of SWIT's venture development initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Partner, Investment Analyst, and the Business Development & Marketing Manager to ensure startups are well-positioned for funding, growth, and market entry.

Reporting

  • Regularly report to the CEO on the progress of the accelerator and incubator programs, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports for the Investment Committee on potential investment opportunities identified through the programs.
  • Track and report key acceleration/incubation metrics (e.g., number of startups admitted, equity stakes, partnership agreements) to the team.
